HELLO!
My name is Rebeca López, and I was born in Valencia, Spain. I graduated in Fine Arts from the Universitat Politècnica de València, completing my final year at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. Back in Spain, I developed my final degree project titled "Sinfonía Floral". Since then, I have continued to explore methods and techniques in pursuit of a personal pictorial expression. I have been working professionally as a painter for over nine years. Always eager to innovate, improve, and give my best in every piece, design, or commission, I am deeply passionate about any medium that allows for creativity.
In addition to painting, I find graphic design and illustration to be exciting fields where I can work with flowers in new dimensions. As the granddaughter and niece of artists, I grew up surrounded by exhibitions, galleries, and artistic gatherings. Now, I aspire to be on the other side of the frame, sharing my innermost feelings and thoughts through my paintings for others to observe and connect with.
Over the years, I’ve built a floral empire, creating more than 200 works of art. Most of my clients are based in Spain, but my works can also be found in places as far as Mexico and Australia.
My most heartfelt goal is to bring nature and my vision of it into my clients' homes.
ARTISTIC
STATEMENT
An artistic statement is a brief declaration about the underlying motive that leads each artist to work on a specific theme, technique or concept, expressing their inner turmoil as reflected in their work.
You can read mine below.
The flower, nature, chance, the wind swaying the leaves of a rose bush…
The intention of my work is to capture everything from the purest, most cared for and enriched nature to the most hostile undergrowth, expressed in a rough and beautiful way at the same time.
The earth, our mother and her flowers, her daughters, smiling freely, bound, delicate and imposing to a cruel yet beautiful world that looms before them. A struggle of light and shadow that, like life, matures at the rhythm of its author.
Where every movement, gesture, stain, scratch, splash and smudge create a perennial space for a still-living nature. Caressed by the wind, surviving pollution, the flower wins and survives and angrily shouts loud and clear that they have come to show us the beauty of this world. A world that is worth the effort, the joy and its contemplation. My work wants to be a window to a not-so-idyllic setting of nature. A vindication of it in urban spaces, a window to the countryside, an approach to nature in our own homes. And at the same time demonstrate all of this with aesthetic and artistic sensitivity.
